November's book list: Children's books to fall For!

Ya'll we are firmly into the "Ber" months and heading quickly into the end of the year - how? I've decided I don't want to wear a shame hat as I think of everything I didn't accomplish this year and rather turn my gaze onto the one or two things I can reasonably finish before 2025 takes it's final bow.

Count down to 2026-01-01T05:00:00.000Z

So I said to myself, "self, what's one thing you want...besides a Chrysler Pacifica Mini van?" so that I can fully embrace my soccer mom life?

The answer is: I don't want to lose YOU. Both Instagram and Tiktok have gone down in the past year, and it made me realize how precious my book loving community is. Who else is going to get excited about the latest Vanessa Brantley-Newton or Aaliyah Agostini book drop? You!

Who else is going to squeal and tell friends that Craig Kofi has a new middle grade book out? You!

Who else needs a book list specifically for the 2nd grader, or 4th grader, or has to do storytime in a Kindergarten class and has no idea what to read aloud? YOU!

So I'm dusting off this newsletter. I'm rolling up my sleeves and getting back to doing what I love to do. Sharing new books, book lists and interesting finds on the web, in Atlanta and beyond. I hope you'll stick with me during this reboot!

This Weeks Books

Fall has finally come to the south and I wanted to share a few new and old favorites this week.

Apple Picking Day!

Apple picking is one of our favorite fall activities. If you have a beginning reader, the Step into Reading Level 1 series is perfect for building confidence.

Amara's Farm

One of my favorite fall books. Help Amara compare, contrast and indentify which item in the harvest is a pumpkin. Heading to a farm is one of our fall bucket list musts!

Thank Fall

Independent author Ciara Hill has written an ode to all things fall. If you could bottle up your favorite things about fall would you? From the leaves changing, to holidays like Halloween to cozy Thanksgiving meals this one is a delight for the sense.

The of Secret Fall

Explore why leaves change color with a diverse group of children. This one is dripping in a fall color palette. Beautiful!

It's Fall

The first book in a series about the seasons. This book gets a spot on my list for it's diverse representation and gorgeous illustrations.

These are just a few diverse books that I have enjoyed with my girls. For a printable list of my top 20 fall books for 2025. Grab the list below.
